About Us
Wellington Golf Cars is a family owned and operated business. The father has been in the golf car business since 1982, right here in Palm Beach County, Florida. He married his wife 18 years ago in 1987, and she has been part of the business ever since. They raised three children who have been around golf cars their entire lives. Their son runs the workshop, along with service and repairs, and their youngest daughter is in sales and secretarial work. Six additional employees round off the staff at Wellington Golf Cars.
The parents built the golf car business solely on golf-oriented vehicles. Twenty-three years ago, the only thing golf cars were used for was golf. At that time, new golf cars sold for around $2,300 and usually came with no accessories. The parents conjured up an idea, and turned it into reality.
The idea was to take a used golf car, preferably no older than two or three years, disassemble the vehicle down to its frame, replace everything with new parts, load it with accessories, put a price on it well below the new car price, give the customer a comparable warranty, and still be able to make a profit. Looks like that turned out to be a pretty good idea, because now almost every golf car company in the country is doing it.
Throughout the years, Wellington Golf Cars could see how custom golf cars were becoming more and more popular, so we decided to tap into the market. Well, as you can see by our photo gallery, we did pretty well with that, too.
So if you're in the market for a custom golf car, or just a good used vehicle, don't hesitate to give us a call. We have been around quite a while, and are here to stay.
Update:
As of April 15, 2005, Wellington Golf Cars has embarked on a new venture. We purchased Island Golf Cars of the Keys in Marathon, Fla., in the hopes that we can bring our custom cars and success to other parts of the state. Stay tuned for more information. |
